The Georgetown University sailing team will represent the United States at the 2014 World University Match Racing Championships, held in Trentino, Italy with the event starting Sunday, June 29 and continuing through Saturday, July 5 on Lake Ledro.
ITHACA, N.Y. – The sport of women’s sailing at Cornell University has been elevated from club status to a varsity team, Andy Noel, the Meakem*Smith Director of Athletics and Physical Education, announced today. “This is an exciting announcement for many in the Cornell community, and I’d like to thank the loyal and generous alumni who have fully funded this move to varsity status, Noel said. “It is a requirement that any additional sports be fully funded before we are able to consider adding to our varsity roster. We are excited that our women sailors will have the opportunity to experience a varsity program.”
Orders need to be placed by May 20th for a September 1 delivery. This will be an annual order date. North will keep a few of sets in stock year round for emergencies however the majority of the orders will need to be in the Spring for Fall delivery.
Austin, Texas (June 11, 2014) – In an online awards show this evening, produced by Chris Love Productions, the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) announced the 2014 All-American Team for the first time in this format. Fifty-two sailors were awarded this great honor. The names of the winners will be added to the ICSA Hall of Fame display located in the Robert Crown Center at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
St. Mary’s City, Md. (June 6, 2014) – Today was the last day of the Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship, hosted by St. Mary’s College of Maryland. This is the last of three high caliber spring College Sailing National Championships, where were co-hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy and St. Mary’s College of Maryland. After winning their semi-final fleet leading up to the finals portion of this event Yale University has won the national title and the Henry A. Morss Memorial Trophy.

(June 6, 2014) – At an awards ceremony following racing for the Gill Coed National Championship at St. Mary’s College of Maryland the honors for the Marlow Ropes College Sailor of the Year, Robert H. Hobbs Sportsmanship Award and the Leonard M. Fowle Trophy for the Best Overall Team were presented. The names of the winners will be added to the ICSA Hall of Fame display located in the Robert Crown Center at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
St. Mary’s City, Md. (June 5, 2014) – The Gill Coed Dinghy National Championship continued today at St. Mary’s College of Maryland on the St. Mary’s River. The top eighteen collegiate teams in the nation advanced from the previous two days of competing in semi-finals to make it to the finals event today.
St. Mary’s City, Md. (June 4, 2014) – Today was the second and final day of the Semi-Finals for the Gill Coed National Championship, hosted by St. Mary’s College of Maryland. The top 36 college sailing teams in the nation competed on the St. Mary’s River in St. Mary’s City, Md. for 18 spots in the championship finals, which begin tomorrow, Thursday, June 5th. The 36 teams are divided into two fleets of 18 teams, Western and Eastern Semi-Final groups, the top nine from each fleet will make up the 18 teams who compete in the finals.
St. Mary’s City, Md. (June 3, 2014) – Today was the first day of the Gill Coed National Championship Semi-Finals, hosted by St. Mary’s College of Maryland. The top 36 collegiate sailing teams in the nation reported to the regatta venue on the St. Mary’s River in St. Mary’s City, Md. to compete for 18 spots in the championship finals, which will begin on Thursday, June 5th.

This event is the second of three collegiate sailing national championships co-hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy and St. Mary’s College of Maryland this spring. After three days of racing Yale University is the national champion and winner of the Walter C. Wood Trophy.
