NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week, Weekend 6, Spring 2016


New London, CT-4/10/16 – Megan Grapengeter-Rudnick ’17, Courtney Bergh ’16, and Alexandra Swanson ‘16 of the Brown University Bears are the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week after winning A-division at the Emily Wick Women’s Trophy at Connecticut College.  Grapengeter-Rudnick, Bergh, and Swanson finished seven of the eight races in the top five in the 18-boat fleet in a wide range of conditions, finishing with 35 points. Their performance led the Bears to a 26-point victory over second place.

Around the Conference

Congratulations to Yale, Boston College, Brown, and Dartmouth on finishing first through fourth at the NEISA Team Race Championship and qualifying for the 2016 ICSA/Laser Performance Team Race National Championship, May 28-30, in San Diego, CA. The Brown Bears won the Emily Wick Women’s Trophy at Connecticut College followed by Boston University in second.   Massachusetts Maritime Academy and Johnson and Wales University finished first and second at the New England Dinghy Tournament, hosted by Sacred Heart University, qualifying for the NEISA Dinghy Championship.  Tufts won the Mystic Lake Team Race. The Tufts Jumbos also won the Admiral Alymers Trophy hosted by Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
