NEISA Sailors of the Week, Weekend 1, Fall 2024

New Haven, CT - 9/8/24 - Brown University’s Leyton Borcherding ’25 and Helen Horangic ‘25 have been named the NEISA Open Sailors of the Week for their role in leading the Bears to both the A-Division and overall victories at the Harry Anderson Jr. Regatta. Despite sailing Saturday only and beginning the event with an OCS in the first race, the duo still managed to lead their division after the first day with an impressive scorecard that included winning three of the other six raced sailed. Their performance helped Brown jump to an impressive 27 point lead after Saturday’s racing and set the pace for what would ultimately become a victory for the Bears.

Cambridge, MA - 9/8/24 - Dartmouth College’s Sarah Young ‘25 and Lilly Baker ‘27 have been named the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week. The duo led the Big Green to both the A-Division and overall win at the Toni Deutsch ’58 Trophy. In a competitive event that saw multiple lead changes on Sunday and even more teams within striking distance of the lead, the duo sailed particularly well down the stretch, posting a scorecard of all top 6 finishes in the final five races of the event to help the Big Green pull away from the field while also claiming the divisional win in the final race of the event.
