NEISA Sailors of the Week, Weekend 3, Fall 2017


**Nic Baird is the NEISA Sailor of the Week***

Nic Baird (Yale ’19) earned the NEISA Sailor of the Week honors for his impressive win at the NEISA Men’s Singlehanded Champs.  Baird won the first race of the event, and led throughout the regatta, topping a very talented field in a 10-race series.

***Dana Rhode is the NEISA Women’s Sailor of the Week***

Dana Rhode (USCGA ’18) won the NEISA Women’s Singlehanded Champs in the final race of the regatta, and has been named the New England Women’s Sailor of the Week.  The score were tight among the top six throughout the event, and Rhode pulled ahead by finishing second in each of the last two races.

Around the Conference

Nic Baird will move on to compete at the ICSA Singlehanded National Championship on November 4-5 along with fellow NEISA Sailors Scott Rasmussen (BC, ’20), Malcolm Lamphere (Yale, ’18), and Alp Rdopman (Tufts, ’17).  Dana Rhode qualified for the ICSA Singlehanded Championship on November 4-5 along with Talia Tolin (Tufts ’21), Anna Weis (BU, ’20), Lindsey Baab, (Brown, ’18) and Sophia Reineke (BC ’21).  Tufts won the Hood trophy at their home venue, and the Jumbos also won the Salt Pond Invite at URI.  The University of Vermont women’s team scored a win at the Amanda Trophy hosted by Roger Willaims, and Boston University won the Ross Trophy at Courageous Sailing Center.  Outside of the district, Dartmouth College won the St. Mary’s Fall Interconference Regatta.
