***Jack DeNatale and Nicole Moeder are the NEISA Open Sailors of the Week***
Washington, DC – 3/12-13/22 – Jack DeNatale ’22 and Nicole Moeder ’22 from Boston College are the NEISA Open Sailors of the Week. Seniors DeNatale and Moeder teamed up to lead the Boston College Eagles to claim the John Jackson Memorial Team Race hosted by Georgetown University. The duo proved to be outstanding leaders in freezing temperatures and extremely short races to beat the 3pm time limit. The Eagles won out in the tiebreak sail off against Georgetown and Hobart and William Smith to take the victory.
***Emma Cowles and Helena Ware are the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week***

Annapolis, MD– 3/512-13/22 – Emma Cowles ’25 and Helena Ware ’23 from Yale University are the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week. The Navy Women’s Spring Team Race Regatta was the most competitive women’s collegiate team race to date. With Saturday’s racing canceled, the race to get to 80% of the rotation was on! In a tight race with BC, Cowles and Ware were able to break up the 1-2 of BC on the last beat to secure the race win for the Bulldogs. Yale completed their portion of the round with a 6-1 record leaving BC with 2 losses at the end of their portion of the round. Unfortunately, with only one race to go before the 3pm time limit, and the last race on deck to start, the regatta was called off.
While the Navy Women’s Spring Team Race was not able to officially count, the NEISA Awards Committee felt that there was plenty of fantastic racing on Sunday at Navy to award the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week. The racing at Navy was fair, exciting, challenging, and cold! Unfortunately 1 minute was the difference between an official regatta and an unofficial regatta.
