Sailors of the Week, Weekend 11, Fall 2014


***Jermain, Bobley, and MacKinnon of UVM are named the NEISA COED SAILOR OF THE WEEK***

New London, CT —  11/16/14 Nate Jermain '15, Travis Bobley ’17, and Megan MacKinnon ‘17 of the University of Vermont  are named the NEISA Coed Sailors of the Week after finishing second in B-division at the Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championship hosted by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.  Jermain, Bobley, and MacKinnon sailed an impressive event, finishing in the top five in seven of thirteen races. The trio led the University of Vermont Catamounts to a third place overall finish, one of the team’s best performances at the Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championship in recent years.

***Williams, Diserio, and McKown of Dartmouth are named the NEISA WOMEN’S SAILORS OF THE WEEK***

Cambridge, MA— 11/16/14 Sarah Williams '16, Sophia Diserio ’18, and Julia McKown  '17 of the Dartmouth Big Green are named the NEISA Women’s Sailors of the Week after finishing second  in A-division at the Atlantic Coast Women’s Championship hosted by MIT.  Williams, Diserio, and McKown had a breakout performance in a tough A-division in light and shifty conditions.  They finished in the top five in ten of the eighteen races, leading the Big Green to a second place overall finish in the 18-team event.

Around the conference—

The Boston College Eagles finished fourth at the Match Race National Championship hosted by Seawannakha Corinthian Yacht Club.  Boston College also finished second at the Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championship with UVM in third and Yale in fourth.  Dartmouth was the top NEISA team at the Atlantic Coast Women’s Championship finishing second with Bowdoin in fourth and Brown in fifth.  The Brown Bears were the top NEISA team at the Atlantic Coast Tournament finishing second overall.
