MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (May 26, 2017) – The Quantum Women’s Sailor of the Year and Women’s All-American and Honorable Mention were announced during an awards presentation at the Sperry Women’s National Championship at the J. Stewart Walker Sailing Center home of the championships hosts College of Charleston Sailing Team.


MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (May 26, 2017) – Today was the last day of racing for the Sperry Women’s National Championship Finals hosted by the College of Charleston. The top eighteen women’s collegiate teams in the nation raced for the Gerald C. Miller Trophy and Yale University took the win.


MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (May 25, 2017) – The Sperry Women’s National Championship continued today on the Cooper River in Charleston Harbor, hosted by College of Charleston. Eighteen collegiate teams advanced from the previous two days of competition in the semifinals to make it to the finals racing. The teams are vying for the national title and the Gerald C. Miller Trophy.


MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (May 24, 2017) – Racing continued today on the Cooper River in Charleston Harbor in the second day of the Sperry Women’s Semifinals. Thirty-six collegiate sailing teams from across the nation qualified to compete in these semifinals to determine the top 18 teams who will advance to the finals, which begin tomorrow at 10 a.m. The 36 teams are divided into two fleets of 18 teams, Western and Eastern Semifinal groups, the top nine from each fleet will make up the 18 teams who compete in the final championship.

 


CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 23, 2017) – The 2017 Intercollegiate Sailing Association’s series of National Championships began today in Charleston Harbor on the Cooper River in Mount Pleasant, S.C. with the Sperry Women’s Semifinal Championship hosted by the College of Charleston. The semifinals are the precursor and qualifying event for the Sperry Women’s National Championship Finals, which will begin Thursday, May 25 at 10 a.m.

 


CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 22, 2017) – The Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) honored three individuals for their contributions to the sport of college sailing by inducting them into the ICSA Hall of Fame at today’s annual ICSA Meeting, which is the kick off to the Spring College Sailing National Championships, hosted by the College of Charleston at the J. Stewart Walker Center.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (May 16, 2017) – The Intercollegiate Sailing Association’s (ICSA) three spring national championships, Sperry College Sailing Women’s National Semi-Final and Final Championship, LaserPerformance College Sailing Team Race National Championship, and the Gill College Sailing National Semi-Final and Final Championship commence Tuesday, May 23. The Women’s event will last for four days immediately followed by the Team Race championship on May 27, lasting for three days and the Coed championship on May 30, lasting for four days.


Sunday morning at the Savin Hill Yacht Club showed an early, stiff seabreeze. “Brisk,” said PRO Alden Reid. As predicted, the breeze, building throughout the day, coupled with the temperature created a championship atmosphere fitting only for the New England Coed Championship/ US Coast Guard Alumni Bowl.


The Northwestern University Wildcats cap an impressive season with a MCSA Team Race Championship win.  Their 16-2 record was enough to edge University of Wisconsin (13-5), who took second and the last spot MCSA offers to Team Race Nationals.
